ANSWERS TO PRAYER

We love hearing of answers to prayer at Potters Church. It helps us to recognise all the ways that God has been working and sharing these help to encourage and build faith. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to see the answered prayers we have had submitted!

If you have received an answer to prayer, whether this is within the past week, month, year or in your lifetime, you’re welcome to share it with us and the Potters Church family. We have deliberately made this an anonymous submission to allow anyone to submit answered prayers, without having to fill in your personal details.

These answered prayers will be shared with our church family online, through our social media, weekly roundup and this website, so please only submit something you’re happy to have shared.

Submissions may be edited for length or clarity. If your submission doesn’t appear it may be due to pastoral sensitivities, please know that we are still praying for you and thanking God for your answered prayer.

I would like to thank everyone for their prayers through the difficult time my family has had trying to find a care home for my Step Mum Moira whilst my Dad Graham has been going in and out of hospital and now can no longer care for her. Praise the Lord that God has answered and delivered a double whammy by my Step Mum being put in the home she normally goes to, where she is comfortable, the staff know her and Dad can visit her. She is down to be with them for 12 months and this will be looked at after the 12 months. This has taken a weight from my Dad's shoulders so also mine.

Four years ago I was diagnosed with incurable cancer. My prayer then was for strength to face the future and for support for my family. I’ve never prayed for healing, just for courage and peace of mind. I’ve been overwhelmed by the love that has come pouring over me from family and friends. More amazing has been my ability to face each day with peace in my heart and a happy, grateful outlook. After 2 ops, 20 round of chemo, sepsis, delirium, many hospital stays I am still here loving Jesus more and more, and being able to witness that he never leaves us.

After feeling ready to leave my previous job, I began to pray for what I should do next. I heard about a job advertised, got an interview and asked my close friends and family to pray. The interview went well and at the end of the interview I was offered the job! During the interview it felt like this job will be a good fit for what I want. God is good!!

We have been praying for and with our neighbour who has, over the past months, been having tests and treatment for prostate cancer. Yesterday we heard he is now cancer free. God is faithful!

We have prayed fervently for God to protect Jessica (my daughter) who, despite living with a serious illness and having to take immuno-suppressive medication herself decided to continue working as an A&E doctor through the pandemic. She has remained well throughout and what's more she must have had COVID 19 as she's discovered she has antibodies. God is amazing - a mighty healer, strong to save. Praise his name.

My son and daughter-in-law moved to Merseyside from Manchester as Jenny had been told that her job as a speech therapist would be relocated to that area from Woolley near Clitheroe. She was told a few weeks ago that would no longer be the case. She is expecting a baby in December and the long commute was going to make life very difficult after the baby was born. We prayed and a couple of weeks later she was informed that her job was being relocated after all!

My daughter-in-law’s Grandad was admitted to hospital a couple of months ago with respiratory and heart problems. As a nurse, she didn’t think he would survive.

We prayed for him and a week later he was back home and is still going strong!

Gerald has been in extreme pain with his back.

He needed prayer for an appointment, an operation and suitable painkillers.

He is now improving steadily and his pain is much more under control.
